Oneness vs the 1%

“The Oxfam report, ‘An Economy for the 1%,’ reveals that the richest 1% own as much as 3.6 billion people do–the bottom 50% of humanity. While the wealth of the richest 62 people in the world increased by more than 45 percent between 2010 and 2015–an increase of more than half a trillion dollars, from $542 billion to $1.76 trillion–the wealth of the bottom half fell by just over a trillion dollars over the same period–a drop of 38 percent. In 2010, 388 individuals had as much wealth as the poorest half; in 2011, the figure was 177; in 2012, it dropped to 159; in 2013, it went down further to 92; in 2014, it was 80; and in 2017, the figure came down to just eight.“

WTF, man. Does anybody care about this? I mean, why the hell am I going to work everyday? What is my work, by the way? I’m still trying to figure it out. Well, some of my work is to fight or comment on this shit like my new hero Vandana Shiva is doing. I’m not powerful, I am a nobody, but I sure as hell can try to do something to help humanity shift even if I’m part of the bottom 3.6 billion. I’m not saying I don’t like the world’s richest people. I’m asking the question: what are they really doing with control of all that money? If they are giving it away like they say they are, I would think there wouldn’t be any poor people starving people in a world that’s about to destroy itself powerfully contributing to global warming. The critical question is: If they are giving 99% of their wealth away, why are they getting richer? It just doesn’t make sense. Here’s what Russell Brand has to say about that.

I mean, they’re really not putting the money where their mouths are, are they?

Fuck you guys and your fake “Giving Pledge.” You guys are such hypocrites. If you guys were doing right, things would be changing in the world, not getting worse. Poverty would be decreasing rather than increasing. We would be saving the plants and animals. Look at what you did to Africa, Bill Gates. There are 131 million people are starving because of the programs you’ve implemented. Everywhere you go more people are starving. How does that represent help, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Jef Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and the rest of you. You get on TV like you’re helping when actually you are controlling and accumulating wealth. What are your real intentions?

I think you start out with good intentions, but the wealthier you get the more you assume that you know what we all need. Well, you are human the same as we are and you literally could save the world and you’re not. The old adage appears to be true, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Will somebody please give me an example of people who’ve accumulated great power and wealth and actually tried to save the world where everything on the planet profited? I don’t see anybody. These guys remind me of Thanos in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Thanos thought he was doing right by destroying all life in the universe and recreating it as he saw fit. That’s been dreamt by a bunch of people and cartoon characters, all of whose plans went terribly wrong for the rest of us normal folk. Every country, dictatorship has changed when they’ve seized power.

Look at every single coup, dictatorship, kingdom: Germany (Hitler), Argentina (Peron), Cuba (Castro), Russia (Stalin), England (Henry VII, Elizabeth I, James I, Charles II), Dutch (Charles V aka Holy Roman Emperor), Portugal (Philip I aka Philip II of Spain), Spain (King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella I), France (Napoleon Bonaparte), Egypt (Ramses II), United States (name a president that owned people or murdered natives). These are just some problematic individuals that I’m naming off the top of my head. It’s crazy making. The only time democracy works is if the people as a group decide for themselves, like for real. Not like we have it here, a plutocracy disguised as a democracy. Especially now. I don’t think there’s a democracy anywhere in the world at this point, to tell you the truth. Can you name one? Perhaps Switzerland? You can’t give power to just a few rich people. It is very very dangerous, like always.

Who is calling these guys out? Where is the media? What can we do?
